Go-Giver

The Go-Giver A little Story About a Powerful Business Idea;
This book changed my life once I opened it I could not put it down until it was complete. I am a big believer in giving and providing value beyond what is offered. The Go-Giver illustrates how this philosophy creates joy and proceeds.

Within the book there are 5 Laws of Stratospheric Success;

THE LAW OF VALUE
THE LAW OF COMPENSATION
THE LAW OF INFLUENCE
THE LAW OF AUTHENTICITY
THE LAW OF RECEPTIVITY
The Law of Receptivity - stood out personally. It is challenging to give the Law full credit; The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.
As a facilitator i heap praise and positive reinforcement upon groups - although I often find myself uncomfortable receiving praise from the groups.
This Law of Receptivity speaks of being open to receiving gifts and feeling "alright with this".
Culturally receiving a gift people feel they must act humble and refuse - although much like Christmas it is the Receiving that is as important as the Giving.
I found a link on my friend Tom Heck's site Teachmeteamwork.com (an amazing resource for any team building and professional facilitator). Tom interviewed one of the authors John David Mann click here to hear the audio interview.
