Team Building Facilitator - Not all are Created Equal

bowers95713

As I search the world wide web for Team Building Organizations I often come across the term "Certified Team Building Facilitators" - I wonder if they know what this means?? Are they referring to the new standards set forth by the ACCT if they are check and ask for their certifications.

Do they even know what trainings they have attended - High Elements, low elements, facilitator - was this training for school groups and kids. This is fine for school groups and kids - do they know how to facilitate corporate and adult groups (if you are a corporate team building organization - YOU SHOULD be trained and to work with corporate and adult teams).

I encourage and demand that customers are informed that NOT all Team Building Companies, Organizations, and Facilitators are equal! You may be getting an intern! a maintenance employee! a person who has NO Team Training Experience (I have seen it and also attended trainings when I asked the "team building facilitator", "How long you been doing this?" the answer was - "I am an intern (maintenance man, sales coordinator etc..) this is my first time.")

Is this who you trust an intern and maintenance man to lead your workforce development training and teach your staff how to grow, communicate and lead?
